Trying to revive one of the best hobbies that has been around since the late 1800’s.

I started collecting in the late 70’s, when my neighbor in Woodhaven, Queens, introduced me to the hobby.

He would send my friend and me to the corner candy store and would give us money to purchase packs for him and a few for us. That was the beginning of over 40 years of collecting.

As like most of us, I collected heavily during the late 80’s and 90’s. Then between the saturation of cards, the price increase that most kids could not afford and the baseball strike of 1994 the hobby dwindled.

Let us fast forward now to 2016…

an avid collector and a great man John Mitchell started the Orlando Area Card Show in Maitland.

John’s vision was to restore and revive this awesome hobby and at the same time raise some money for a local non-profit. At the end of 2018, John expressed his hopes to retire as a promoter of the show and handed the baton over to me, to continue the re-birth of the hobby and card shows.
